That explanation is not what she needed to hear. Haruka understands that-- of course she understands that-- but she had hoped for Michiru's answer to at the very least hold some note of realization, of regret, to show her it was nothing more than a momentary loss of reason in the heat of battle.

But Michiru never so much as wavers, and that mellow evenness to her voice makes Haruka's stomach churn.

"How can you say that so calmly?!" She shakes her, Michiru's slight frame giving easily beneath her hold. "Weren't you the one who came up with that promise in the first place?!"
